From the mythical and adrenaline-fuelled La VolatA to the peaceful and scenic Pista degli Innamorati (Lovers’ Run)…
In the Ski Area San Pellegrino you will be spoilt for choice: discover all our pistes.
La VolatA, which starts in Falcade (BL) and finishes at the San Pellegrino Pass (TN), has become the temple of international skiing, hosting the Val di Fassa Ski World Cup in 2021. This challenging run – homologated by FISI and FIS for downhill, super-G, giant slalom and special slalom races – owes its name to its technical characteristics: the slope is 2,400 m long, with 630 m of altitude difference and slopes approaching a gradient of 50%.
Reference refuge: InAlto.
After the first initial steep slope, turn diagonally to the left. To our right we can admire the majesty of the Civetta and Pelmo, skirting the Lago di Cavia that leads us to the pass. From there, three challenging steep slopes start, which take us back to the start of the Col Margherita cable car in no time at all. This run is approved for races and training.

Pure adrenaline! As soon as we get off the “Gigante” two-seater chairlift, the majesty of the Cima Uomo mountain, which gives its name to the piste, appears before us, as well as the panorama of the San Pellegrino Pass. The slope immediately presents a very challenging face, which has to be skied with great care: it features tight turns and then comes to a jump, which is only done during DH competitions. We then cross the narrows, making two fast turns, and enter the Le Coste piste, which will take us directly to the finish line.
Numerous competitions have been held on this run, notably the Italian Absolute Championships and the Universiade in 2013.
Reference refuge: Chalet Cima Uomo.
The piste starts to the left of the arrival station of the Costabella chairlift. The characteristic feature of the Monzoni is the consistency of the slope; this results in very careful, technical and fast skiing.
Descending to the right, one can observe the Ski Cross track, where international events are held, and then the Sanpe Snow Park, popular with all freestyle enthusiasts.

Choose the Laresei slope to ski surrounded by the Dolomites: from the Pale di San Martino to Mulaz, from the Giganti dell’Agordino, Civetta, Pelmo and Cime d’Auta to the Marmolada, and then take in a 360-degree view of Cima Uomo and Col Margherita. In the heart of the Paneveggio park runs this very wide, medium gradient piste, whose central and final parts are certainly adrenaline-pumping. Perfect for intermediate and expert skiers who can enjoy turns from beginning to end.

The Pista degli Innamorati is a must-see in the travel notebook of those who love slow skiing, amidst pleasant peaks and landscapes that delight the eyes. The route stretches for about 11 km from the natural terrace of the Col Margherita (2,514 m) – where the new and panoramic InAlto refuge is located, with a view of the Pale di San Martino and other Dolomite peaks – to Falcade (1,100 m). Winding its way through forests and wooden huts, the route crosses an area with breathtaking views, with Monte Mulaz standing out in front and the Paneveggio Nature Park providing the backdrop. We recommend that you stop for a tasty refreshment break at one of the many refuges on the edge of the trail.
Reference refuge: Rifugio-Capanna Passo Valles and Hotel Dolomiti in Caverson.
The slope from the Col Margheritato Passo San Pellegrino is named after Lake Cavia, a reservoir that is used for snowmaking for the entire Ski Area San Pellegrino. It is one of the most popular slopes for ski instructors, who can even train beginners here. The central part has been widened, making it easily passable even for the less experienced. Among the most fascinating sections is the passage through the larch forests.

A comprehensive course offering all types of parabolics: rollers, dragons, three negatives and four jumps. This is the Ski Cross Costabella slope, for years the Federal Training Centre of the Italian national teams.
The run has a height difference of 150 metres and covers 1,200 metres.
