For Nordic ski fans the San Pellegrino Ski Area provides more than 26 km of tracks that are part of the SuperNordicSkipass circuit, which certifies the most innovative world class cross country centres offering high quality standards.
At Passo San Pellegrino there is the Centro Fondo Alochet with runs organized in loops of varying difficulty and length for a total of 18 km; some of these are quite challenging, like the black track called “Campo d’Orso”.
In the centre of Falcade instead, there is the Centro Fondo Pietro Scola with 8 km of tracks for all levels that also provides night skiing.
You can choose from various routes, from the ski school centre to the more serious loops that are certified for FISI and FIS competitions.
All of the tracks receive daily maintenance. They are always perfectly mowed and prepared for both the classic technique as well as for skating.
Cross country skiers can also enjoy several services designed just for them: refreshment areas, ski tuning, equipment rentals and lockers, dressing rooms, ski schools and plenty of reserved parking.
The Centro del fondo Alochet is a veritable point of reference for Nordic skiing. You can ski along 18 km of runs organized in to 4 loops of varying difficulty, between altitudes of 1900 and 2500 metres, along fantastic routes immersed in the forests near San Pellegrino Lake. The tracks are always perfectly mowed and prepared for both the classic technique as well as for skating. The Ski school slope and Masaré runs have artificial snow cannons.
The Centro del fondo Alochet is accessible by taking the ski bus from either Moena or from the centre of Passo San Pellegrino.
The runs vary from the blue Alochet to the black Campo d’Orso, which is used by the Italian National Cross Country Ski team for retreats and training. The red Masarè is the run most suited for everyone and every level of preparation, with a medium-difficult, up and down route with two significant but not too difficult downhill bits.
FOR MORE EXPERIENCED SKIERS:
The Campo d’Orso run
This 12 km loop is very challenging and arrives to the Passo San Pellegrino funicular lift to then return to the Centro Fondo Alochet: the first half of the trip is primarily up hill, while the return is almost all downhill and you must take care to watch your speed, especially at the many turns along the way. The Campo d’Orso trail winds almost entirely through the woods among spruce and larch pines, and you can enjoy awesome views of the Cima Bocche, Cima Juribrutto, Cima Uomo, Col Margherita and Creste di Costabella.

The Centro Fondo Pietro Scola offers the possibility of cross country skiing through woods and the wide spaces surrounding Falcade.
You can choose from various routes, from the ski school slope where novices can learn basic techniques from expert instructors, to the Biois torrent to take on the impressive inclines of the most difficult route.
The snow cannon system insures perfectly maintained runs while the lighting system allows for nocturnal cross country skiing two nights a week from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., on a technical trail through the forests and a flat track along the Biois torrent.
All loops are prepared for classic and skating techniques
The starting point for the runs is just a short walk from the centre of the village.
The I Tonf slope is perfect for beginners because it covers an entirely flat terrain, while the Pietro Scola and Le Brostolade runs are perfect for professional training, so much so that the talented Italian National champions Pietro Scola and Magda Genuin got their start here.
Ski School slope: 400 m
I Tonf: 2500 m
Pietro Scola: 7000 m
Le Brostolade: 7500 m

The Brostolade slope
This 7.5 km loop covers the Falcade plain in the direction of the village of Caviola. It sets off from the Centro Fondo Pietro Scola and the first 2 km are flat and suited to everyone. Continuing, you come to the artsy area of Falcade, with a few stretches, particularly down-hills, which are more challenging. Then from here you go back for about 1 km until you come to the gulch on the Biois torrent, then you continue to the edge of the forest where a series of decidedly technical rises and descents make the run a little more difficult.
