TOUR DESCRIPTION

It is one of the most interesting loops on the San Pellegrino Bike Trail, which runs at the foot of “Costabella”‘s peaks, from “Baita Paradiso” Mountain Hut to “Fuciade”.

From the pass, take the Costabella chairlift. From the top station, immediately take the dirt track (bumpy and stony) which leads swiftly towards “Baita Paradiso” Mountain Hut. Once past the refuge, tackle a steep descent before climbing up the opposite slope (“Pont” > “Val de San Tomas”) and follow the Italian military track which cuts across the lush “Tegnousa” Valley before rejoining the road to “Fuciade (La Regòla)”. Watch out for grazing animals!
Once you reach the refuge, continue along the cart track. Pass the junction for “Forca Rossa” (trailmark no. 670) on your left and skirt around “Prà Gran”. The track narrows to a path and descends steeply through the pastures until it emerges onto the dirt track leading to “Valfredda”. Join the tarmac road and head back towards the pass, climbing the final stretch of the main road.

The San Pellegrino – San Pellegrino Bike Tour is easily reached via the lifts from Passo San Pellegrino or Falcade. Access requires the purchase of the appropriate bike pass or the Dolomiti Supersummer card, which is valid across several ski areas. If this is your first time in the valley, we recommend hiring a bike guide.

The route follows mixed-use trails that are also frequented by hikers. It is therefore recommended to maintain a moderate speed and always be mindful of other trail users.
