Are you ready for an adventure on your bike?
On the Ski Area San Pellegrino Bike Trail, bikers can experience three single trails and two flow trails that weave between the valleys of Veneto and Trentino. The routes can be tackled by bikers of different levels: from families with children to experts in the field and e-bike enthusiasts. The natural amphitheatres surrounding the trails offer incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The various malghe (alpine huts) and refuges along the route will offer some tasty treats to share.
Distance: 10.5 km
The loop route starts at either Falcade, for those on the Veneto side, or at Passo San Pellegrino, for those coming from Trentino. Along the way, one can admire extensive expanses of sunny meadows interspersed with stretches of forest.
After reaching altitude via the Costabella chairlift and admiring the beauty of the basin surrounded by the Dolomites, we start pedalling downhill through a pastoral environment, where time is marked by the bells of the alpine pastures. Along the way, several refuges offer fine local cuisine. Continuing the ride, one arrives at Falcade with its typical tabià and a cycle path that crosses the Piana to the start of the cableway in Molino, which allows one to ascend to Col Margherita and the cableway of the same name that leads to Passo San Pellegrino, thus closing the loop back to the starting point.
The route starts from the top of Col Margherita, at 2,514 m, where you will find the mountain station of the cable car of the same name and the new InAlto, a perfect place for an aperitif or lunch with a view. Here, you can breathe in deeply and admire the spectacular natural amphitheatre stretching from the south face of the Marmolada to the Pale di San Martino, with Pelmo, Civetta and Focobon on the horizon. We continue down towards the Passo Valles along the trail that in winter hosts the Pista degli Innamorati. After reaching Passo Valles, we continue towards Falcade along a section of the regional road, then turn right and descend to Malga Valles Alto and follow the Innamorati trail to Caverson and finally to Falcade. To return to Col Margherita, you can use the gondola and chairlift that pass by the Chalet Le Buse and the Rifugio Laresei, both of which offer breathtaking views.
The Le Buse Flow Trail is a completely downhill route that offers two trails of constant difficulty. The routes require the use of special protectors and full-suspension bicycles and are ideal for those who wish to focus on speed, rhythm and jumps. It is recommended for bikers with a medium to high level of training and who have a twin-suspension bike. The trails wind through blueberry and cranberry bushes, with the Pale di San Martino always watching over the route. By purchasing a day ticket, bikers will be able to use the Le Buse – Laresei chairlift several times to enjoy the experience to the full without any time limit.
