Exploring the History of the Great War

Starting from the upper stations of the Costabella chairlift and the Col Margherita gondola, you can set off on numerous hikes that also offer historical interest, retracing the sites of the bloody clashes that took place during the First World War between the Italian army and the Austro-Hungarian troops. Along the way, you can admire the remains of huts, covered passageways, wooden staircases and machine-gun emplacements, as if in a veritable open-air museum. These hikes offer an opportunity to learn more about the history of these places.
